Fakhrul mourns death of freedom fighter Abdul Gofran

DHAKA, May 16, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has expressed profound shock and sorry at the death of his school-friend and valiant freedom fighter Md Abdul Gofran.

In a message of condolence, the BNP secretary general said Md Abdul Gofran spread the light of knowledge, and awakened cultural consciousness, and his contribution will be remembered with respect forever in Thakurgaon.

Md Abdul Gofran, popularly known as Gofran Sir in Thakurgaon, breathed his last on May 14 while undergoing treatment at Bangladesh Medical University at the age of 73. 

Gofran was the founding general secretary of Thakurgaon district Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal. He was the Head Master of Riverview High School of Thakurgaon for long.
