DHAKA, May 17, 2025(BSS) - A court here today ordered to send Milton Samadder, chairman of Child and Old Age Care, and his wife Mithu Halder to jail in connection with an attempt to murder case.

Milton and his wife surrendered to the court of Metropolitan Magistrate (MM) Md Minhazur Rahman this morning and prayed for bail. But the court, after holding hearing on the petition, rejected their bail prayers and ordered to send them to jail.

According to the case, Milton was arrested by a team of the Detective Branch (DB) of police on May 1 last year from Mirpur area for his alleged involvement in making false death certificate, torturing innocent people in his make shift cell and human trafficking. Police lodged three criminal cases against Milton and took him on remand for several times in connection with those allegations. He was later released on bail.

Inspector Ataur Rahman of the DB recently submitted charge sheet against Milton and his wife in the attempt to murder case. On May 6, the court took the charge sheet into cognizance and issued warrant of arrest against them.
