Ivy shown arrested in two more cases in Narayanganj

    NARAYANGANJ, May 17, 2025 (BSS)- Former mayor of Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) Selina Hayat Ivi was shown arrested by a court here today in connection with two more cases including a murder.

    Senior Judicial Magistrate of Narayanganj Shahidul Islam Chowdhury after a hearing, shown Ivy as arrested in two more cases including a murder. Ivy was virtually connected with the court from Kashimpur Central Jail of Gazipur during the hearing.

    The court so far shown her arrested in three cases out of five lodged against her with different police stations in Narayanganj district.

    Court Inspector Md kaiyum Khan told BSS that Ivy was not brought to the court but she was virtually connected. The court after the hearing shown her arrested in two separate cases of Siddirganj Thana.

    Advocate S M Siddiqur Rahman, lawyer of Ivy, told the court that his client Ivy did not join any programme against the student during last year's July-August uprising. 

    Selina Hayat Ivy and 99 others were accused in a murder case of Siddirganj Thana on September 13 last year following the death of Tuhin who received bullet wounds in front of Dutch-Bangla Bank on Dhaka-Chattogram Highway on July 20.

    Another case was filed with same police station against 69 people including former lawmaker of Narayanganj Shamim Osman and Selina Hayat Ivy on September 1 last year following an attempt to murder of hawker Nadim at Shimrail area on Dhaka-Chattogram High Way during the anti-discrimination students' movement of last year.
