KHULNA, May 17, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed said today that the interim government should organize a transparent and neutral national parliamentary election.

"We had said that emergency reforms must be carried out before the election, and that the national election must be held in December as a priority," he told a rally at the Circuit House ground here.

Khulna and Barisal divisions Chhatra Dal, Jubo Dal and Swechchhasebak Dal organized the divisional rally.

Salahuddin Ahmed said, "An interim government has been formed following a mass uprising, but don't assume that we want to see you in power for a long time."

He said, "There are two representatives from NCP in the advisory council, serving as advisers and actively involved in the NCP. If the government wants to maintain neutrality, the government should ask the two NCP figures to resign. If they don't do that, then the government should remove them."

The rally drew a large number of young leaders and activists from the Khulna and Barisal divisions.

Jubo Dal central president Abdul Monayem Munna addressed the rally as the keynote speaker, while Swechchhasebak Dal central president S.M. Zilani and Jubo Dal General Secretary Nurul Islam Nayan addressed as special guests.

Central President of Chhatra Dal Rakibul Islam Rakib presided over the meeting while Central General Secretary of Swechchhasebak Dal Rajib Ahsan and Chhatra Dal General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir conducted the rally.
