Bhashantek slum fire under control

DHAKA, May 18, 2025 (BSS) - A fire that broke out in Bhashantek Slum in the
capital's Mipur-14 this evening, was brought under control after one hour's
of frantic efforts.
 
The fire was originated around 7:55pm today and was brought under control
around 9:10pm with efforts of seven fire fighting units, Fire Service and
Civil Defence media officer Md Anwarul Islam told BSS.

There was no report of casualty till filing of the report around 9:30pm
today, he also said.

The cause behind the fire and extent of damage could not be known
immediately, he added.
