DHAKA, May 18, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 86 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 43 were reported in Barishal division (excluding BCC area), 11 in Chattogram division (excluding CCC area), seven in Dhaka division (excluding city corporations), nine in Dhaka north city corporation, 13 in Dhaka south city corporation, one in Khulna division (excluding KCC area) and two in Mymensingh division (excluding MCC), said a press release.

Meanwhile, 75 patients were released from hospitals after receiving treatment. With the latest figures, 22 people died of dengue this year.

From January to December 31, 2024, a total of 1,01,214 people infected with dengue and 575 died, the release added.
