DHAKA, May 19, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh Ikebana Association hosted a special exhibition in Tokyo, Japan on Sunday, showcasing the traditional Japanese art of flower arrangement as part of its ongoing cultural exchange efforts.

The day-long exhibition, held at Takashimadaira from 11:00 am to 5:00pm, was organized with the support of Takashimadaira Act Director Yoshinari Katsuo, the association said in a media statement.

Speaking on the occasion, Masud Karim, chief patron of the Bangladesh Ikebana Association, highlighted the historical roots and evolution of Ikebana, underscoring its cultural relevance and growing popularity in Bangladesh.

Yoshinari Katsuo praised the initiative, describing the participation of eight visiting members from Bangladesh as “commendable” and a significant contribution to promoting intercultural dialogue.

During the event, Harada Kazuko and Sawa Kyoko were honored by the Bangladesh Ikebana Association for their contributions to cultural exchange and Ikebana practice.

Vice-President Professor Mizukami and Professor Noro of Rikkyo University in Tokyo were also present at the exhibition.

The program concluded with a cultural performance by Japanese organization Uttoron, adding a festive note to the occasion.
