DHAKA, May 19, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today imposed a travel ban on former
chief of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Mohammad Ali Mia over graft
allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the
order, allowing a petition of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The anti-graft body in its plea said it has appointed an investigation
officer to probe allegations of amassing illegal wealth by Mohammad Ali Mia,
also a former additional inspector general (AIG) of police.

"It has been learned from the trusted sources that the accused is trying to
flee the country and if he succeeds in doing so, the investigation can be
hampered. So, a travel ban should be imposed on him immediately," the ACC
plea added.
