DHAKA, May 20, 2025 (BSS) - A women's delegation of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami paid a courtesy call on British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Sarah Cooke at the British High Commission here.

The meeting was held on Monday, where the nine-member delegation led by Nurunnisa Siddiqui, Secretary of Jamaat's Women's Division, discussed various issues including women's empowerment and their roles in social and political spheres, according to a press release issued today.

The delegation members shared their outlooks and experiences, terming the meeting with the British envoy a significant development in the current political context of Bangladesh.

The other members of the delegation included Assistant Secretaries Sayeda Rumman and Marzia Begum; Khandoker Ayesha Khatun, member of the Women's Division Central Working Council; Central Council member Dr. Habiba Chowdhury Sweet; Advocate Sabikunnahar Munni; Professor Salama Sultana; Professor Tahmina Yasmin; and Engineer Nishat Tasnim.
