DHAKA, May 28, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Standing Committee member Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain today said the young generation will determine the future of Bangladesh.

He said this while addressing a youth rally organized by the party’s three front bodies --Chhatra Dal, Jubo Dal and Swechchhasebak Dal in the capital’s Nayapaltan.

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman spoke virtually as the chief guest with Jubo Dal President Abdul Monayem Munna in the chair.

Mosharraf said Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman established Chhatra Dal and Jubo Dal and similarly, his worthy son, acting chairman of BNP Tarique Rahman has taken the initiative to unite the youth society.

He called upon the youths to play a crucial role “in this critical moment of the nation”.

Mosharraf said BNP leaders and workers had to face enormous harassment and inhumane torture during the Awami League regime as party chief Begum Khaleda Zia had to serve jail term in “false cases”  while Tarique Rahman was also sentenced in a fabricated case.

“Not a single one of our workers was left out who did not go to jail, did not become a victim of a false case. This torture ended through the movement of students and youth,” he said.

“We expected the interim government would restore the people’s right to vote very soon through holding a free and fair poll. But the government has not taken any decision so far to restore voting and democracy,” he said.
