DHAKA, June 4, 2025 (BSS) - The Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested five members of the Awami League (AL) and its front and associate bodies from different parts of the capital on Tuesday. 

The arrested are Madaripur Municipal AL President Akbar Hossain Howlader, Joint General Secretary of Gafargaon Upazila Chhatra League Lavlu Mia, Vice President of AL Mirpur Thana unit Haider Ali Khan, and Homna Upazila Awami League General Secretary AKM Siddiqur Rahman.

Separate teams of the DB arrested them in separate raids at Dhanmondi and Mirpur DOHS on Tuesday.

Deputy Commissioner of DB Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed their arrest. 

There are multiple cases against the arrestees registered with different police stations on specific charges.
