COVID-19 update: 25 new cases, one reported death in 24 hours

DHAKA, June 16, 2025 (BSS) - The Health Department has confirmed 25 new cases of COVID-19 in the country within the 24-hour period from 8:00 am Sunday to 8:00 am Monday. 

During this time, 231 samples were tested, yielding a patient detection rate of 10.82 percent.

One death linked to the coronavirus was reported in the same period. This brings the total number of COVID-related fatalities this year to five.
 
Since the onset of the pandemic in 2020, the official death toll has reached 29,504.
