SAVAR, June 18, 2025 (BSS) - Six people including two women sustained severe
burn injuries in a fire reportedly from a gas cylinder blast in Ashulia on
Wednesday morning.

The injured were Jahanara, 40, Jewel, 24, Shanto, 21, Hawa Akhter, 23,
Zahurul Islam, 26, and Nasir, 38.

A wall of a two-storey building collapsed in the explosion that occurred this
morning at Badhiarpar adjacent to Mandal Market in Nishchintapur area of
Ashula.

Initially, the injured were taken to Ashulia Women and Children Hospital and
later four were shifted to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery
as their conditions worsened, said Harun Or Rashid, manager of Ashulia Women

Al Rifat Talukder, duty officer of the Jirabo Model Fire Service, said
initially it is believed that the explosion occurred due to gas accumulated
from the leakage. The matter is being investigated. Details will be announced
later.
