DHAKA, June 18, 2025 (BSS) - The Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested 
five more leaders and activists of the Awami League (AL) and its associate 
organizations from different parts of the capital. 

The arrested have been identified as Ward No. 65 Awami League leader and 
Mujahid Nagar Unit Awami League President Mohammad Belayet Hossain (60), 
Kafrul Thana Swechchhasebak League General Secretary Abdul Malek Al Mamun , 
Ward No. 11 Awami League General Secretary Shafiqul Islam Lincoln (57), 
Keraniganj Model Thana Awami League Vice President Haji Lutfar Rahman (62), 
Turag Thana Unit 53 Awami League Organizing Secretary Md. Shahidul Islam 
(48).

Multiple DB teams arrested them from Fakirapul, Dhanmondi, Paikpara, 
Chawkbazar and Diabari areas on Tuesday, deputy commissioner of DB Muhammad 
Talebur Rahman told BSS.

They were accused in multiple cases on specific charges. 

They were involved in organizing and destabilizing the country by destroying 
the law and order and creating panic in the public mind by holding sudden 
processions in different parts of the capital.
