Ex-NCC Mayor Ivy remanded for two days

NARANGANJ, June 18, 2025 (BSS) – A court here today put former mayor of Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) Selina Hayat Ivy on a two-day remand in Sajal murder case.

Senior Judicial Magistrate of the district Mainuddin Kadir passed the order in presence of Ivy, who attended the court proceeding on virtual platform from Kashimpur Jail in Gazipur. 

The court has also shown Ivy arrested in an attempted murder of Sayeed filed with Fatullah Model Police Station upon a petition. 

The court sources confirmed that police has filed a petition seeking seven days remand for Ivy in Sajal murder case filed with Siddhirganj Police Station while the lawyers of Ivy filed a bail petition for their client.

The court granted two days remand for Ivy after rejecting the bail prayer after hearing both the prosecution and defence. 
 
Earlier on May 9 last, police arrested Ivy from her Dewbhog residence in Narayanganj town. A court later sent Ivy to the jail. She was accused in six murder and attempted murder cases filed with Siddhirganj and Fatullah Police Stations.
