DHAKA, June 19, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) kept continuing its 15-day tree plantation programme with planting saplings in various districts of the country, including Dhaka, Bogura, Mymensingh and Netrakona.
JCD central unit announced the countrywide tree plantation in line with the BNP's acting Chairman Tarique Rahman's commitment to building a green Bangladesh on the World Environment Day-2025 on June 5.
As part of the programme, JCD leaders and activists of different districts accomplished the programme yesterday as well.
During this time, saplings of different species of flowers, fruits and medicinal plants were planted, BNP's media cell said in a Facebook post.
A tree plantation programme was held by Dhaka Medical College Chhatra Dal yesterday under the guidance of its JCD president Dr. Golam Morshed Sajeeb.
JCD leaders Meshkat Sharif Bhuiyan and Zakaria Ashraf Ashfi implemented the programme.
Former JCD leaders Selim Raihan Lemon, Russel Dhali, Anwar Hossain and other leaders were present at the time.
On the occasion, flower, fruit and medicinal saplings were planted in different parts of the DMC campus. The entire programme was coordinated by Dr Mir Rashek Alam Obi and former JCD health affairs secretary Dr Mahamudul Hasan Khan Sumon.
About 1,000 medicinal, flower and fruit trees were planted on campus of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College, Bogur.
On the instructions of Mymensingh South District JCD President Azizul Hakim Aziz and General Secretary Rakib Hossain, a tree plantation programme was organised by planting saplings of different species of flowers, fruits and medicinal plants on both sides of the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway Road under the leadership of Trishal Upazila Chhatra Dal's acting convener Mahmudul Hasan Robin Akand.
Trishal Upazila Chhatra Dal and many union JCD leaders were present.
Besides, a tree plantation programme was held on the premises of Netrokona Government College under the initiative of college unit's senior joint convener Amirul Islam.
