5 held over Tk 1.08cr heist in disguise of RAB

DHAKA, June 19, 2025 (BSS) - Police have apprehended five suspects involved in Saturday's mugging in Dhaka's Uttara, where criminals wearing RAB uniform, snatched Tk 1.08 crore from a representative of mobile financial service provider Nagad.

Deputy Commissioner (media and public relations) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed the arrests.

Police also recovered stolen cash and seized a vehicle used in the crime from their possessions. 

Md Muhidul Islam, deputy commissioner of DMP's Uttara Division will brief the media regarding the operation and arrests at 1.00 pm today at the DMP Media Centre on Mintoo Road.

Earlier, the mugging took place in broad daylight around 8:00 am near Roads 12 and 13 at Uttara Sector 13 in the capital on Saturday.
