Ex-state minister for planning Shamsul Alam held in city

DHAKA, June 19, 2025 (BSS) - The Detective Branch of police arrested former State Minister for Planning Ministry Dr. Shamsul Alam from the capital's Mohammadpur area early today.

He was apprehended from Mohammadpur Thana area around 12:30am today, Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Muhammad Talebur Rahman told BSS.

Samsul Alam is now in DB custody, he said.
    
The former state minister was accused in multiple cases linked to the July mass uprising.

He will be produced before the court today.
