NAOGAON, June 19, 2025 (BSS) – BNP Chairperson’s Advisory Council Member Abdus Salam today categorically said there is no alternative to an elected government to thwart all sorts of conspiracies.
“We want election soon as we think that without an elected government you can’t stop conspiracies…You (Prof. Yunus) can’t stay in power for long in the name of reforms,” he said.
The BNP leader made the comments while addressing a review meeting of district, city BNP and its front organizations under Rajshahi division at Badalgachi upazila council auditorium here this noon.
He said the interim government must have to hold elections soon and they have no option to make delay year after year in the name of trial and reforms.
“The ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina used to say that she is still a prime minister and she will entre into the country anytime...For this reason, I am requesting you (Prof. Muhammad Yunus) to stop the conspiracy by holding the election soon”, he said.
In this connection, he said, “We want election …but it is not only to make Tarique Rahman the prime minister of the country… we need leaders like Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman for leading the country.”
“But it is clear that the hegemonies can be resisted if BNP comes to power”, he told the function.
Even the economy, which is now being jeopardized would be possible to repair only by the BNP, Salam said, adding that so, the BNP want to go to power.
Jubodal central committee General Secretary Mohammad Nurul Islam Nayan, Swechasebak Dal Vice-President Fakhrul Islam Rabin, BNP Rajshahi divisional Assistant Organizing Secretary AHM Obaidur Rahman Chandan, Krishak Dal Central Committee Joint General Secretary Fazley Huda Babul, Naogaon district BNP convener Abu Bakar Siddique Nannu and other senior leaders of the district BNP and its front organizations also spoke on the occasion.
BNP Rajshahi division Organizing Secretary Amirul Islam Khan Alim chaired the meeting.
