11 killed in Mymensingh road accidents

MYMENSINGH, June 21, 2025 (BSS) - Eleven people were killed and 17 others 
injured in two separate road accidents in Phulpur and Tarakanda upazilas of 
the district on Friday.

The deceased were identified as Kazim Uddin, 28, of Nijguddimari village 
under Hatibandha in Lalmonirhat district, Rubel, 30, of Joyramkura village in 
Haluaghat, Shamsuddin, 65, of Koyrahati village, Hasina Khatun, 50, of 
Balijuri, Farid Mia, 38, of Kaziakanda in Phulpur upazila, Nayan Mia, 40, 
Zaher Ali, 70, of Nishuniakanda village, Lal Mia, 36, of Purbadhala in 
Netrokona district, Jabeda Khatun, 85, of Baratia village under Dhobaura in 
Mymensingh district, Rakibul Hasan, 15, of Madipur Sutarpara in Phulpur 
upazila and Mohammad Alam of Shuilam Mugberiya village in Mymensingh Sadar 
upazila.

In Phulpur, eight people were killed and at least 17 others injured when a 
Dhaka-bound bus of Shyamoli Bangla Paribahan collided head-on with a Mahindra 
three-wheeler in the Kaziakanda area of Phulpur municipality around 9 pm, 
said Abdul Hadi, officer-in-charge (OC) of Phulpur Police Station.

The injured were admitted to Phulpur Upazila Health Complex, he added.

According to police, all victims were passengers of the Mahindra vehicle.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Kazi Akhtar ul Alam and Phulpur Upazila Nirbahi 
Officer (UNO) Sadia Islam Seema visited the accident site at night on the 
day.

In another accident, three people died when an ambulance collided head-on 
with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Tarakanda's Ramchandrapur area around 5:30 pm 
on Friday.

Tipu Sultan, OC of Tarakanda Police Station, confirmed the incident.
