BOGURA, June 22, 2025(BSS) - The Detective Branch (DB) of Bogura district police arrested top terror of the town Juba League leader Motin Sarkar alias Kosai Motin from Dhaka's Bashila area last night (Saturday).

Police said Kosai Motin, son of late Mojibor Rahman Sarkar of Chak Sutrapur area of the town, was also the joint secretary of Bogura Town Juba League. He is the elder brother of another top terror of the town Tufan Sarkar. Tufan Sarkar came into discussion as he bald headed a mother and her daughter forcibly a few years back as the daughter refused to marry Tufan Sarkar.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the DB Iqbal Bahar said that Motin Sarkar alias Kosai Motin has been accused in over a dozen of criminal cases, including murder and drug cases. He is also accused in many cases for his alleged involvement in the attacks on the anti-discrimination students' movement, the OC said, adding that after the fall of the fascist government, he went into hiding to avoid police arrest.

The DB, on the basis of secret information, raided at Bashila area under Mohammadpur Thana of the capital and arrested him, Iqbal Bahar said, adding that he would be produced before the court tomorrow for further legal actions.
