Tree plantation programme ongoing on Zubaida Rahman's birthday

DHAKA, June 22, 2025 (BSS) – In celebration of the birth anniversary of renowned physician and cardiologist Dr Zubaida Rahman, tree plantation programmes have continued across the country under the initiative of ‘Amra BNP Paribar’.

Dr Zubaida Rahman is the wife of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman. 

As part of the birthday celebration, BNP and its affiliated organizations organized tree plantation events in various districts and upazilas. 

Narayanganj Metropolitan Unit Chhatra Dal organized a tree plantation programme today at Government Kadam Rasul College. Joint Convener of the Narayanganj Metropolitan Unit BNP Alhaj Abul Kawsar Ashwas was present at the event as the chief guest.

Member of the BNP National Executive Committee Akramul Hasan Mintu planted various species of eco-friendly saplings in Joynagar Union under Shibpur upazila of Narsingdi district. Local leaders and activists from BNP, Jubo Dal, Chhatra Dal, and Krishak Dal were present on the occasion.

Besides, Jagannath University Chhatra Dal and the Monohardi Upazila Krishak Dal also organized tree plantation events.

Under the directives of Jagannath University Chhatra Dal Convener Mehedi Hasan Himel and Member Secretary Shamsul Arefin, its Joint Convener Md Mahmudul Hasan Khan Mahmud planted trees at the university’s second campus.

Monohardi Upazila Unit Krishak Dal organized tree plantation programmes in various educational institutions across Sukundi and Lebutala unions. Teachers of the respective educational institutions, members of the governing bodies, public representatives, and representatives from various organizations participated in the events.

Agriculturist Shahadat Hossain Biplob, Joint Secretary of the Krishak Dal Central Committee, provided overall supervision for the programmes.
