Travel ban imposed on Hasan Mahmud, wife

DHAKA, June 23, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today imposed a travel ban on former Foreign Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud and his wife Nuran Fatema over graft allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The court also ordered to freeze his nine bank accounts and 12 bank accounts of his wife over the same allegations. It also ordered to seize a SUV of the former minister.

The ACC earlier on April 6, 2025, filed two separate cases against the couple over amassment of illegal wealth of Taka 6.63 crore and suspicious transactions of Taka 722 crore.
