DHAKA, June 23, 2025 (BSS) - Police early today arrested four members of the 
Awami League (AL) and its front association from different parts of the 
capital city. 

The arrested have been identified as former central executive committee 
member of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Md Tariqul Islam (38), 9 
no ward AL president Abdul Wahab (58), joint general secretary of 25 no ward 
Jubo League Mehedi Hasan Babu (43) and assistant office secretary of 92 no 
ward AL Zakir Hossain Ali (61). 

Police arrested former BCL leader Tariqul from Shanirakhra area under 
Jatrabari Police Station while Abdul Wahab from Kalabagan area Mehedi Hasan 
Babu from Pallabi area and Zakir Ali from Mirpur area early today.

Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Muhammad Talebur 
Rahman confirmed their arrest. 

The detainees were accused in multiple cases for specific charges.
