DHAKA, June 23, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today sent to jail former Awami
League lawmaker from reserved seat Sabina Akter Tuhin in a case lodged under
anti-terror act with the capital's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station.

Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mustafizur Rahman passed the order as
police produced Tuhin, also the former president of Dhaka North city unit
Jubo Mohila League, before the court and pleaded to keep her behind bars till
the end of the probe.

Sabina Akter Tuhin was detained from her parental home in village Awna under
Sholla union in Nawabganj upazila of the district in the wee hours of today.

According to the case documents, leaders and activists of now banned
Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), along with Jubo Mohila League, brought out a
procession in front of the Planning Ministry in the capital's Sher-e-Bangla
Nagar area on April 4 last.

"They chanted different anti-government and anti-state slogans in the rally
for promoting the activities of banned organisations and encouraging
terrorist organisations in the country," police said.

Later, police filed the case with the concerned police station.
