Dhaka, June 24, 2025 (BSS)- A Dhaka court today granted bail to singer Mainul Ahsan Noble in a case filed against him for allegedly confining a girl at his Demra residence for seven months and raping her during that period.

The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mehera Mahbub granted bail on a Taka 1,000 bond after a hearing on the matter, defence counsel Md Monir Uddin told BSS.

Noble filed for bail on Sunday, when the court had set today for holding the hearing on the matter. Today, the court heard the matter in the presence of the victim, whom Noble married at the main gate of Keraniganj Central Jail on June 19 under the supervision of the prison authorities.

The victim during today's hearing said she has no objection if Noble is given bail.

The defence counsel said the case was filed due to a misunderstanding between Noble and the victim. They are now legally married, and the victim has no objection to his release on bail.

Earlier on June 18, the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nazmin Akter ordered the prison authorities to arrange the marriage with their consent and inform the court.

Police arrested Mainul Ahsan Noble, who gained fame for his appearance on the Indian reality show "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa," from his Demra Staff Quarter home on May 20.

A disturbing video went viral showing Noble chasing a girl on the stairs of his home, dragging her by the hair, and physically assaulting her. Parents of the girl, a former student of Eden Mohila College, recognized their daughter from the video and called the national emergency service 999.

Police rescued her from Noble's Demra house. The girl later filed the case with Demra Police Station.
