Water level in 79 rivers rises, 38 falls: FFWC

DHAKA, June 24, 2025 (BSS) - Water levels at 79 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise while 38 stations recorded fall.

Among the 119 monitored river stations, water levels at two stations have remained steady while no stations are flowing above the danger level, a bulletin issued by the FFWC said here today.

The water levels of all major rivers are flowing below the danger level, read the bulletin.

The water levels of the Teesta, Dharla, and Dudhkumar rivers are rising. These rivers may continue to rise for the next one day and remain stable for the following two days. 

Within the next 24 hours, the Teesta River may flow near the warning level (close to the danger level). Moderate to moderately heavy rainfall is likely in this basin over the next three days.

The water levels of the Brahmaputra-Jamuna rivers are rising. This rising trend may continue over the next five days; however, the rivers are expected to flow below the danger level.

The water levels of the Surma-Kushiyara rivers are rising. This trend may continue for the next three days, although the rivers are expected to flow below the danger level.

 Moderate-heavy to heavy rainfall is likely in this basin over the next three days.

The water levels of the Ganges and Padma rivers are rising. They may continue to rise over the next five days; however, they are expected to flow below the danger level.
