DHAKA, July 1, 2025 (BSS) – Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant on Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb today laid emphasis on   consolidating  all iBAS modules into a single platform to create a super app, which he believes would enhance overall effectiveness.

“If we can bring all the modules of iBAS in one place and make a super app, it will be more effective,” he said.

Taiyeb made this remark as the chief guest while inaugurating a workshop on "Supply of Funds and Other Remittance Transactions of Bangladesh Post" module in iBAS++ system in the capital’s Dak Bhaban, said a press release.

He said the ministry aims to integrate its affiliated companies into the iBAS framework. This initiative will be central to the Digital Transformation Master Plan and the iBAS evaluation plan in collaboration with the data governance authority, he added.

Taiyeb said the goal is to ensure that when financial institutions engage with non-financial or revenue-generating organizations, they adhere to establish standards.

He said Bangladesh Post, one of the oldest government entities, still relies on manual accounting systems and that is why there is a pressing need to digitize its operations through iBAS. “If necessary, the department will arrange training programs in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance to support this transition,” he added.

Taiyeb also said that the technical installations like IBAS++ should be declared as CIE (Critical Information Infrastructure). If this is done, the installations will get some protection under the Cyber ??Safety Ordinance, he said.

“In addition, we can make a dashboard that will show real-time transactions, accounting KPIs through which we can see the success rates,” he added.

The module built in the IBAS++ system will completely digitalize and automate the withdrawal, deposit and transaction activities with the central treasury through the 72 main post offices of Bangladesh Post.

The effective implementation of this module will ensure transparency, timeliness and accuracy in the government accounting system.

The module is an important step in the implementation of the government's “Government Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS)” and “Treasury Single Account” framework.

With Finance Division Secretary Dr Md Khairuzzaman Mozumder presided over the event while officials concerned attended it.
