DHAKA, July 2, 2025 (BSS) - A Dhaka court today showed Salman F Rahman, Anisul Huq and Dr Dipu Moni arrested in a case lodged over attempt to murder one Md Sohel Rana in the city's Mohammadpur area during the July Mass Uprising.

The court also showed former senior secretary NM Ziaul Alam arrested in the Atiqul Islam murder case filed with Kafrul Police Station.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mehedi Hasan passed the orders as police produced the accused before the court and pleaded to show them arrested in the cases.

According to the case documents, Md Sohel Rana, 38, joined anti-discrimination rally on August 5, 2024, in the Mohammadpur Tin Rastar Mor area. The rally came under attack and Sohel Rana was shot in his thigh. He was rushed to hospital where he underwent treatment.

Sohel Rana filed the case on June 11, 2025, with Mohammadpur Police Station.

On the other hand, Atiqul Islam was shot on July 19, 2024, behind BRTA office under Kafrul Police Station. He was declared dead at the hospital. The case was filed on December 23 in this connection.
