Mobile court fines three institutions in city for air pollution

DHAKA, July 2, 2025 (BSS) - The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change conducted a mobile court in B-Block of Aftabnagar area in the city today for causing air pollution by dumping construction materials openly on public roads.

The mobile court was led by Jesmin Nahar, Deputy Secretary and Executive Magistrate of the Ministry, said a press release here. 

Prosecution was conducted by Md. Monir Uddin Ahmad, Inspector of the Department of Environment, Dhaka Metropolitan Office. 

Upon evidence of violation of Rule 11(g) of the Air Pollution (Control) Rules, 2022, three individuals from three institutions were fined a total of Taka 15,000, which was duly realized on the spot.

The violators were also cautioned to refrain from causing such environmental hazards in the future. 

The Department of Environment will continue such enforcement drives regularly.
