DHAKA, July 2, 2025 (BSS) - A mobile court operation led by the Dhaka District Administration successfully today reclaimed approximately three acres of land acquired by the Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) in the Mirpur embankment area, following the demolition of illegal structures.

The eviction drive was carried out under the supervision of Executive Magistrate Md. Rifatul Islam, in coordination with the BWDB, law enforcement agencies, the Bangladesh Army and other stakeholders.
The operation targeted encroachments on land designated for flood control infrastructure.

Among the structures removed were the Seba Greenline Filling Station and several unauthorized shops and establishments located on and along the Mirpur embankment flood control dam.

The reclaimed land had been illegally occupied, obstructing the Water Development Board's ongoing flood protection and embankment maintenance efforts.

Besides, efforts are underway to clear water hyacinth from the Goran-Chatbari pond area in Mirpur as part of the broader water management and flood mitigation initiative.
