Snehangshu, Toton elected as president, general secretary of Patuakhali BNP

PATUAKHALI, July 3, 2025 (BSS) - Snehangshu Sarkar Kutty and Advocate Mojibur Rahman Toton have been elected as the new president and general secretary of Patuakhali District Unit of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) respectively. 

Advocate Abdul Haque Faraji, Chairman of the Election Steering Committee, announced the results on Wednesday night. The election was held after a long 23 years. 

The two other members of the election commission were Professor Md Moshiur Rahman and Professor Md Nasir Uddin.

Snehangshu secured 758 votes for the post of president, while his nearest rival Maqsud Ahmed Bayezid Panna Mia bagged 402 votes. Advocate Toton was elected general secretary, receiving 474 votes among six candidates. 

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman addressed the conference virtually as the chief guest.
