DHAKA, July 3, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today ordered to attach a couple of plots, flat, houses and to freeze two FDRs and 16 bank accounts of former Barguna-1 lawmaker Dhirendra Debnath Shambhu.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The attached properties include 1,073 decimals of land in Barguna, two tin-shed houses, a flat in the capital's Uttara, five-katha plot in Aftabnagar and two cars.

The ACC in its plea said it has filed a case against the former lawmaker for amassing illegal wealth of Taka 5.41 crore, keeping those under his possession, making suspicious transactions of 41.93 crore through the 16 bank accounts.

"It has been learned that the accused is trying to transfer or hand over his properties to evade justice and those should be attached immediately," the plea added.
