DHAKA, July 3, 2025 (BSS) - In a joint operation, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Wednesday apprehended one of the top criminals of Kobjikata Group' of the capital's Mohammadpur, from Narail district. 
 
The arrested has been identified as Md. Babu Khan alias Tunda Babu (31), one of the main associates of the 'Kobjikata Group', a juvenile criminal gang. 
 
A joint team of RAB-2 and RAB-6 arrested Tunda Babu from C & B Bazar area under Lohagara police station in Narail district on Wednesday. 
 
Tunda Babu and his gang members are involved in drug trafficking in different areas of the capital. 
 
In addition, the arrested Tunda Babu is involved in various crimes including extortion, robbery, and land grabbing with members of the juvenile gang in the Mohammadpur area. 
 
RAB sources said that on February 18, 2025, Tunda Babu was seen in Shyamoli Housing Project No. 2 holding a samurai and a knife in his hand, and engaging in a showdown with members of the juvenile gang. 
 
CCTV footage related to this went viral on social media. 
 
In view of this, RAB-2 took the initiative to arrest him and he was arrested by RAB-2 on February 24, 2025. Later, he was released on bail on May 5 in 2025 and was conducting various criminal activities as before. 
 
On June 29 last drug dealer Raju (25) was hacked to death with country-made weapons by Tunda Babu and his accomplices due to a previous enmity centering the drug trading in Adabor Police Station areas. 
 
In addition, there are more than 10 cases against Tunda Babu in various police stations of the capital, including murder, attempted murder, robbery, kidnapping, theft, and preparation for robbery.
 
During the initial interrogation, Tunda Babu said that he had developed a good relationship with the arrested top terrorist of Mohammadpur, Anwar alias Kabjikata Anwar. 

He used to carry out various terrorist activities including extortion, drug dealing, land grabbing, theft, robbery, murder, etc. in Mohammadpur and surrounding areas at the orders of Kabjikata Anwar. 
 
The RAB personnel in recent operations arrested the top drug dealer and terrorist of Geneva Camp Bhuiyan Sohel alias Bunia Sohel, the head of the drug dealer Chua Selim group, Md. Selim Ashrafi alias Chua Selim alias Chora Selim, and the head of the discussed top terrorist 'Kobjikata Group' of the capital's Mohammadpur, Md. Anwar alias Shooter Anwar alias Kobjikata Anwar, along with their associates from different parts of Mohammadpur.
