DHAKA, July 3, 2025 (BSS) - In a move to enhance security and prevent untoward incidents on campus, Dhaka University (DU) authorities have announced that the pocket gates of all residential halls will remain closed from 9pm to 6am daily.

The directive will remain in force until further notice, according to a press release issued today.

As per the instructions of the DU authorities, security personnel deployed across faculties, halls, institutes, bungalows, academic buildings, administrative offices, and residential areas must wear the designated uniform and remain at their assigned posts.

Guards on duty are not permitted to leave their stations without properly handing over responsibilities to the next assigned personnel.

In cases where the next guard fails to arrive on time, the matter must be immediately reported to the person in charge.

Additionally, security personnel have been ordered to closely monitor the presence and movement of outsiders on campus.

If any suspicious individuals or activities are detected, the relevant office head, the proctor's office, or the estate manager must be notified without delay.
