DHAKA, July 3, 2025 (BSS) - Based on specific intelligence information, Bangladesh Army
conducted a successful operation against the armed group of the 'KNF' (KNA) in the Polipangsa-
Mulfipara area of Ruma upazila of Bandarban in the early morning today.

During the search operation, the army personnel were able to identify the group of armed
terrorists, said an ISPR press release here.

Sensing the situation as danger, the KNF members tried to escape and a heavy exchange of fire
took place between the two sides. At one stage, the army patrol team recovered the bodies of
two armed KNF members in uniform at the scene.

One of the two deceased was named Puting/Dolly, who was an armed member of the KNF
leadership level with the rank of Major. It is initially known that the other deceased was a
member of the armed wing of the KNF.

At the end of the operation, three submachine guns (SMG), one rifle, a large amount of
ammunition, magazines, KNF uniforms and important documents were recovered from the scene.

In the past years, many families of the Bom community were displaced and forced to seek refuge
elsewhere due to the armed activities of the KNF.

The security situation has improved significantly due to the continued successful operations of
the army; in view of which 126 families have already returned to their respective neighborhoods
and are trying to return to normal life.

The army is providing all-out support for their security, shelter and rehabilitation. Bangladesh
Army is determined to protect the lives and property of all ethnic groups in the Chittagong Hill
Tracts and will continue its tough operations against armed groups in the future.
