Indian truck driver held with 20 Bangladeshi passports in Benapole

JASHORE, July 4, 2025 (BSS) - An Indian truck driver was held yesterday with 20 Bangladeshi passports at the Benapole port area in the district. 

Ansar Commander Helaluzzaman, in charge of port security, said, based on secret information; the security personnel stationed at the port intercepted the truck driver, Becharam Paramanik, while he was passing the cargo vehicle terminal suspiciously with a bag in hand. After searching his bag, 20 Bangladeshi passports were recovered. 

A case was filed under the Passport Act at Benapole Port Police Station. Benapole Port Police Station's Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Russel Mia confirmed the matter. 

The truck driver was handed over to Benapole Port Police Station along with the passports, the OC added.
