EC officials, employees condole death of former CEC ATM Shamsul Huda

DHAKA, July 5, 2025 (BSS) - The officials and employees of Election Commission (EC) today expressed profound shock and deep sorrow at the death of former Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) ATM Shamsul Huda.

In a message of condolence, they prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.

Former CEC ATM Shamsul Huda passed away today at the age of 83. 

“Former CEC and husband of my elder sister Shamsul Huda died at his Dhaka's Gulshan residence around 9am today,” Ashfaque Quadri, brother-in law of Huda told BSS.

Shamsul Huda was brought to the United Hospital as he fell sick in his residence this morning where the attending doctors pronounced him dead, he said.
