6 held in triple murder case at Muradnagar

DHAKA, July 5, 2025 (BSS) – The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Friday arrested six individuals from the capital’s Banosree area and Cumilla for their suspected links to a triple murder case at Muradnagar in Cumilla on July 3. 

The arrested have been identified as Bachhu Miah, 55, Rabiul Awal, 55, Atiqur Rahman, 42, Md Baiz Master, 43,  Dulal, 45 and Akash, 24. 

Of the arrestees, Bachhu, Rabiul, Atik and Baiz were arrested from the capitals’ Banosree area under Rampura Police Station while Dulal and Akash were arrested from Haidrabad, Bangara Bazar in Cumilla on July 4.

Four mobile phone sets and one torch light were seized from their possessions. 

Commander of RAB-11 HM Sazzat Hossain today briefed media about their arrests.

Earlier on July 3, a gang of some criminals stormed into a house at Bangara Bazar, Karaibari area under Muradnagar Upazila in Cumilla district and chopped three persons to death and injured two others. 

The deceased were - Roksana Akter Rubi, 55, her daughter Jonaki, 27, and son Md Russel, 33, while the injured are Ruma, 27, and Rikta, 32. 
    
Injured Rikta, a daughter of deceased Roksana filed a murder case with Bangara Bazar Police Station in this connection.
