Jamaat leader Maulana Rafi Uddin dies

DHAKA, July 6, 2025 (BSS) - Former member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami central executive council and former ameer of greater Faridpur and Noakhali district Mawlana Rafi Uddin Ahmad died due to old age complications this morning.

He was 82.

He breathed his last at 9.30am while he was undergoing treatment at a city hospital.

He left behind his wife, four sons and two daughters and a host of relatives to mourn his death. 

His first Namaj-e-Janaza will be held at Chan Jame mosque after Asr prayer and he will be buried at his family graveyard after second Namaj-e-Janaza at his village home at Companyganj upazila under Noakhali district at 9am tomorrow.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman and secretary general former MP Professor Mia Golam Parwar today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Maulana Rafi Uddin Ahmad.

In condolence message, they said Maulana Rafi Uddin Ahmad was an efficient organizer. He was able to strengthen the foundation of the Islamic movement in greater Noakhali and Faridpur region through his hard work and organizational capacity.
