DINAJPUR, July 6, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Standing Committee member Professor Dr. A.Z.M. Zahid Hossain has said that BNP founder Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman was a patriotic statesman.
“He did various development-oriented works including tree plantation programmes across the country during his tenure, which is still being awakened among the people of the country. In that continuity, each of us will have to participate in tree plantation programmes. There is no alternative to planting trees to maintain the balance of the country,” he said.
Dr. AZM Zahid said this while inaugurating a tree plantation programme at the Dinajpur Ghoraghat Upazila Parishad Hall-room today, organized by Upazila and Municipal BNP in collaboration with the Agriculturalists Association of Bangladesh (AAB).
He also inaugurated the programme of distributing and planting about 14,000 saplings of 11 species among the leaders and workers of Dinajpur Ghoraghat Upazila and Municipal BNP.
The tree plantation and sapling distribution programme was chaired by Upazila BNP President Shah Md. Shamim Hossain Chowdhury and conducted by Municipal BNP President Abdus Sattar Milon.
