DHAKA, July 8, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi today said immediate action is being taken against those who are getting involved in misdeeds by using the name of BNP.

“Organizational measures are being taken immediately by the party against those who are getting involved in misdeeds by using the name of BNP, no one has been spared. Already, several party activists have been expelled, relieved from responsibilities,” he said at a press conference at the BNP’s central office in Nayapaltan.

Rizvi said, “Someone might create chaos and anarchy by misusing BNP’s name, but whenever the party becomes aware of such incidents, it does not hesitate to take organizational measures against them. Since its inception, BNP has consistently struggled to ensure justice for establishing democratic constitution and legal frameworks for good governance".

Clarifying the party’s position on illegal grabber and extortionists, the BNP leader said as BNP is a large political organization, its members at all levels uphold the core principles of multi-party democracy to protect country’s independence and sovereignty.

“Sincere and honest people of all religions and ethnicities, and individuals from various professions, can be members of BNP. This party does not tolerate any anti-social elements, illegal grabbers, or extortionists," he added.

Mentioning anti-BNP campaign in some social media, Rizvi said, "A vested quarter is deliberately using technology to spread various misinformation on social media against BNP. General people think that such systematic native campaign can create social unrest, it is also a part of a long-term plan to obstruct the democratic process and postpone the election".
