DHAKA, July 8, 2025 (BSS) – A court here today imposed a travel ban on 13 people including Salman F Rahman, the former private industry and investment affairs adviser to ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, over graft allegations.

The other 12 people, who have barred from leaving the country, are- former vice chairman of IFIC Bank Ahmed Shayan Fazlur Rahman, former mayor of Sylhet City Corporation Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury, Sarwat Sultana Monami, Md Monirul Islam, Mohammad Shah Alam Sarwar, Rabeya Jamali, ARM Nazmus Sajid, Qamrun Nahar Ahmed, Md Jafar Iqbal, Shah Md Mainuddin, Md Nurul Hasnat and Kaushik Kanti Pandit.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, following a petition, filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The anti-graft body in its petition pleaded in the court that a case against the accused for embezzling money of IFIC Bank is currently under investigation and the accused may try to flee the country to evade justice and that is why travel ban should be imposed on them immediately.
