Water level in 68 rivers rises, 47 falls: FFWC

DHAKA, July 8, 2025 (BSS) - Water levels at 68 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise while 47 
stations recorded fall.

Among the 119 monitored river stations, water levels at four stations have remained steady while no stations are flowing above the danger level, a bulletin issued by the FFWC said here today.

The water levels of the Feni, Muhuri, Halda, Sangu, and Matamuhuri rivers in Chattogram Division are rising, while the water level of the Gomti River remains stable. 

The water levels of these rivers may continue to rise over the next one day and remain stable over the following two days, the FFWC bulletin added. 

The Muhuri River may flow at the warning level in Feni district in the next 24 hours and low-lying areas adjacent to the river may be temporarily flooded. 

The bulletin read heavy to very-heavy rainfall is likely in this basin over the next 24 hours. 

The water levels of the Brahmaputra-Jamuna rivers are rising while this trend may continue for the next three days and then start to fall over the following two days. 

The water levels of the Ganges and Padma rivers are rising and may continue to do so over the next five days. 

The water level of the Surma River is falling, while the Kushiyara River remains stable; both are flowing below the danger level. The water levels of these rivers may remain stable over the next three days.
