Court orders to freeze 26 BO accounts with TK 576cr of ex-land minister Saifuzzaman

DHAKA, July 9, 2025 (BSS) – A court here today ordered to freeze 26 beneficiary owners' (BO) accounts with over TK  576 crore of former land minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Javed and his family members over graft allegations.
 
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md. Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order upon an application of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
 
Assistant Director (Public Relations) of the ACC Tanzil Ahmed informed the media of the matter.  
 
In the application, the ACC said that a taskforce with the representatives from ACC, Criminal Investigation Department (CID), National Board of Revenue (NBR) was formed to investigate the graft allegations against Saifuzzaman, his family members, related persons and organizations.
 
Saifuzzaman and his associates are trying to transfer the money to another place, the petition said, adding that it is necessary to freeze the BO accounts so that they cannot transfer the money.
