DHAKA, July 9, 2025 (BSS)- Biplobi Workers Party General Secretary Saiful Huq has warned that the national security of the country would be more endangered if the national election is delayed.

He said this at a press briefing at Segunbagicha party office here today.

Saiful Huq said, “The people of the country including the political parties are in relief due to the news on holding national election on the first half of February next year. The news of election date has also reduced the psychological distance of the political parties.”

“We hope that the Election Commission will assure the people about the election,” he said.

Fresh anxiety has gripped people on the national election in the last one month, he said, adding that it is absurd holding the local government elections before the national election.

Saiful Huq said, It’s not the responsibility of the interim government to hold the local government polls as people of the country did not waged movement for local government election in the last 16 years.

Party’s political council member Akbar Khan, Mir Mofazzal Hossain Mostaq, Saiful Islam, Feroz Ali, central organizer Babar Chowdhury and Jamirul Rahman Dalim were present.
