DHAKA, July 9, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has stood by child Fahima suffering from blood cancer in Chattogram.

On behalf of Tarique Rahman, the main patron of Amra BNP Paribar, medical assistance was provided to the father of Fahima, who is undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College Hospital, this afternoon by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General and Chief Advisor of 'Amra BNP Paribar Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed, said a BNP release here.

He expressed his determination to inquire about overall situation of this helpless family and bear her full medical expenses.

Incidentally, 11-year-old Fahima, a fifth-grade student, lives in her village in Banshkhali Gunagari Union in Chattogram.

Fahima has six siblings. Her farmer father somehow managed to run the family with hardships.

Suddenly, the entire family was distraught by such a disaster. Still, they did not give up. They started treating their daughter with everything they had. They sold everything except their own house.

At one point, the girl's treatment stopped financially. A YouTuber published a report about them on social media. It came to the attention of BNP's acting chairman, Tarique Rahman. Then he asked 'Amra BNP Paribar' to take all the responsibility of finding out about the girl and treating her.

Since then, Amra BNP Paribar has been bearing the girl's medical expenses.

The delegation of Amra BNP Paribar included BNP National Executive Committee's Chattogram Divisional Assistant Organizing Secretary Barrister Mir Helal, 'Amra BNP Paribar' advisors Engineer Ashraf Uddin Bakul and Abul Kashem, the organization's member secretary Moksedul Momin Mithun and JPC member Jahidul Islam Roni.

Local leaders of BNP and its associate organizations were also present.
