NCRP fines Tk 10 lakh to 138 establishments to keep rice market stable

DHAKA, July 10, 2025(BSS)- The National Consumers' Right Protection (NCRP) Directorate has fined over Taka 10 lakhs to 138 establishments across the country to keep the price of rice and its supply stable.

A total of 63 teams of the NCRP carried out the drive in 44 districts including the capital on Wednesday and fined Taka 10,04,000 to 138 establishments. 

The directorate fined Taka 1,28,000 to 22 establishments in the capital only for various irregularities. 

A total of 10 teams led by 10 officers of the directorate supervised the rice markets in the city's Jatrabari, Malibagh, Lalbagh, Madhya Badda, Mohammadpur town hall bazar, Mirpur-10 and Sat Feet areas as part of its regular drive. The directorate will continue the drive to monitor the markets in the future.
