Salman F Rahman sent to jail after remand in murder case

DHAKA, July 11, 2025 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today sent to jail Salman F Rahman, the former adviser to ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, after end of his remand in a case filed over the killing of one Al-Amin during the July-August mass uprising.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Jewel Rana passed the order as investigation officer (IO) and detective branch (DB) sub-inspector Zahidul Islam pleaded to keep him behind the bars till end of probe in the case. 

The IO further said vital information has been found from the remand of the former private industry affairs adviser of the ousted prime minister and those will be scrutinized for the sake of proper investigation and justice.

Salman F Rahman was arrested from the capital's Sadarghat area as he attempted to flee the city along with former law minister Anisul Huq via the waterways on August 13, 2024.
