DHAKA, July 14, 2025 (BSS) - The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has sent a letter to the National Board of Revenue (NBR) seeking information regarding donations and grants from various organizations to Shuchona Foundation, founded by ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's daughter Saima Wazed Putul, and her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy's Center for Research and Information (CRI).

In the letter sent last Sunday, some very urgent information has been sought, said ACC Deputy Director (Public Relations) Md. Akhtarul Islam.

Due to time constraints in the letter, the relevant information was requested to be provided by today, he said.

The letter stated that Shuchona Foundation’s founder Saima Wazed Putul and others are accused of embezzling funds from corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds of various banks through irregularities.

In addition, allegations have been made against CRI Chairman Sajeeb Wazed Joy and several other members of Sheikh Hasina's family of misusing state funds to implement their political agenda.

In the letter, the ACC mentioned that for the sake of a fair investigation into the allegations, it is absolutely necessary to legally seize and review some important records.
The ACC has formed a seven-member team to investigate the allegations.

The investigation team is led by Deputy Director Md. Monirul Islam.

The other members of the team are Assistant Director Afnan Jannat Keya, Mubashir Atia Tama, SM Rashedul Hasan, AKM Murtuza Ali Sagar, Mohammad Monirul Islam and Deputy Assistant Director Md. Abdullah Al Mamun.
